Caution on Avira VPN Cracked Software

I stupidly opened cracked software that came with the Avira VPN software which activated Adame Ransomware and encrypted all files on my laptop and USB drive.

I’m trying to remove any malware installed by installing SpyHunter, putting the laptop (Windows 10) into Safe Mode and scanning for the malware. Will then remove the malware and then do a system restore to get my files back. I’m hoping this will work. The USB drive is not a priority.

Anyone got any other recommendations?

But beware of cracked software for VPNs especially Avira.

Who thought that a Cracked Anti virus / VPN is unsafe ?

If you mean version of Avira. It was the latest version of Avira VPN Pro. I had downloaded it from PB.

PB was the problem. A lot of malicious guys on there. I almost never get stuff from there anymore. Stick with 1337x.

1337x is blocked by my ISP.

Use a VPN like Wiidscribe

I found that ProtonVPN (the free version) works well to bypass blocks from either an admin or an ISP.
