CDROMANCE.ORG apparently is safe. It's my fault for fully trusting AVG

I made a recent post saying that cdromance is infected because AVG and NordVPN showed that it was infected. I’ve tried NordVPN again and it shows that it is safe. I’ve also tried other URL checkers and found out that the website is safe.

Thank you all for the clarification. I know that I won’t be buying AVG again even though its price is cheap.

Bro cdromance is one of the best rom sites and it has amazing community as well. How come you could think its bad. Spike (the owner) is such a cool guy, I doubt he would ever do something like that.

Character development is always appreciated. Jokes aside, no biggie. Web extensions like that always make mistakes like that.

“safe”

What dangers are you people imagining out there? Holy Moses.

We all learn and grow, it’ll happen again. I wouldn’t be too pressed about it, but I would switch to Mullvad from NordVPN

Don’t worry, it’s okay to make mistakes and I admit I was a little rude too.

cdromance might have a sketchy ad somewhere is all.

Just remember AVG is short for Average.

Lol NordVPN + AVG

Worst combination of security software. You might as well use Windows XP again.

AVG and Avast are literally the most up to date “free” antivirus platforms. If it detected something, it’s not making a false positive.

I already said how I thought it was bad. I got misled by an anti-virus and a URL checker. I don’t know the guy and can’t say if he is good or not, but sometimes, websites get compromised from an inside member or an outside member.

Thank you for understanding

There are many examples of less knowledgable users who get viruses through malicious pop-ups and ad-banners that trick them into downloading a .exe or a .msi with the same name as the file they were trying to get. Since they know nothing about ROMs and even less about extensions, they double-click it to “install” the ROM. Guess what happens next?

So while the files on such sites are still good, those sites still cannot be recommended unless the user knows enough about basic computer safety. Therefore, they aren’t “safe” for them.

Any reason why? I’ve been using nord for the longest out of convenience, but for some reason the newer updates cause my client to just crash so I’m forced to use the browser extension

I only use NordVPN URL checker, but never their VPN. I will probably use another URL checker in the future.

Thank you. I was rude to cdromance

That’s a user problem. Nothing is safe for people that ignorant. They shouldn’t cross the street without their Mom.

It save logs and in the past have some data breaks, try to change to windscribe (also have a extensión, at least for firefox, with 10gb for free eatch month) or mullvad (i dont use It personaly because im form Spain so i dont need anything more that just any way to enter in websites what are block by my isp, but i only hear good things about It)

I wouldn’t, but do you
