China ban my outline VPN server ip every 2 days

i’m running outline in AWS lightsail Singapore server , cant connect my outline vpn every 2days so change my server ip every 2days , i’m use defaults port . How to solve this :frowning: , ( v2ray suggestions ? )

I have the same problem right now being in China. My server is hosted in Singapore on DigitalOcean. Every morning I wake up and my server is unreachable. I verified that the IP is the same, tried restarting the server, but it doesn’t help. So I keep creating new servers.

DigitalOcean works without a VPN in China and loads very fast, so it’s easy to get another server running.

Today I started a server in Australia instead of Singapore and I am using prefixes now: https://www.reddit.com/r/outlinevpn/wiki/index/prefixing/.

I will give an update in a few days on whether it helped or not.

A friend of mine is using v2ray though and doesn’t have any issues so far.

You could use 443 port as i read here. Maybe then it wouldnt be that obvious? Idk man.

Keep fighting

As far as I know it cannot be stopped. It doesn’t matter which protocol (like v2ray) you use, they will see you connecting to the VPN server IP and then be able to block it. You’ll have to continue to change IP, if the server you are renting doesn’t like you changing IP a lot then you have to find a server provider that is fine with it.

Hope this is helpful.

Check Hiddify-Manager, pretty good tool for bypass censorship

I am using outline with 2 setups, one in US and one in HK. both are setup the same way, but HK server works a lot better than the US one.

I have also experienced this issue but it’s almost exactly every 24 hours. I was originally using Digital Ocean but it was time consuming to spin up a new box just to get a new IP address.

If you’re looking for a quicker way then I recommend using AWS Lightsail then stopping and starting the server which changes the IP address. You can also pair this with Dynamic Access Keys (https://www.reddit.com/r/outlinevpn/wiki/index/dynamic_access_keys/) if you’re using multiple devices so that you only need to update the IP address in that config then reconnect your clients. It’s not perfect but it takes me less than 5 minutes in the morning to do for another day of access.

What is the cost ? And how much data transfer per month have you chosen ?

u/paingchan32 My server is still standing after two full nights. I dare to say that using prefixing improved the situation. So you basically add a prefix to your access key, like this: `ss://LONG_KEY_WHATEVER/?outline=1&prefix=POST%20` and re-add the key in your clients. There is more information about this in the link that I shared above.

UPDATE: After 7 days the server is still standing. So I guess it helped

ok man i test to use 443 .

For future reference, changing port only helps if you can’t connect in the first place because they block the default ports. For this it wouldn’t do anything unfortunately.

thank i will find server provider

bro i want to switch xray , trojan like this , but client setup is little difficulty , any suggestions ?

ok bro i try to test this , thank u

but i see aws lightsail dont have HK server , what service u use ?

thank bro i will try this

I know it’s been 5 months but… Do you know if it’s possible to use the prefixing method *(or any other working method) to avoid my IP being blocked in China, using another client, instead of the Outline client? I know I can connect to my server using other toolchains, but I don’t wanna risk get my IP blocked… I’ve been using it with prefixing for more than a month without problems, but in some xiaomi devices the Outline client does’t work properly, and even it shows it’s connected I can’t access the Internet, also, it autoconnects everytime even when the autoconnect feature is disabled.
