Is it possible to set Windscribe ( as a browser add-on ) to not connect when it’s out of data? Currently it fails through and connects through the clear internet. I’d much rather it not connect at all.
“Smokewall” does not seem to affect this. I have smokewall on and it still connects when out of data.
Looking for a solution within the extension or browser itself, as opposed to filtering the whole device at the DNS or IP level.

This is what the logs look like BTW. I wish it would just fail and not “apply public IP”. Perhaps there is a setting I missed:
[auth_required ] - Error while trying to get server creds: User unable to generate credentials. status = 2
[get_session ] - User ******** is expired
[get_session ] - Deactivating proxy...
[get_session ] - Successfully applied public IP
[get_session ] - Proxy has been deactivated
No, the issue is that it “fails open”. If you don’t notice the icon changed color, you’re browsing with your real IP. I’d rather it go blank / tell me to buy more data / or a hand to appear and slap me around with a large trout.
To be more clear, it might stop during a browsing session; I’d have to retest. But if you close and reopen the browser with no data left, it will go ahead and connect without the VPN.
