Does anyone use a VPN to watch games on mlbtv? We have apple devices & a Roku tv. I’m tired of paying so much for mlbtv … and so many games are blacked out for us. I’ve had Norton for years but it is not compatible with mlbtv or Roku 🙄

Ready to replace it. Have recs from a friend for either ipvanish or expressvpn. Can anyone offer any insight on what works or doesn’t? Tia :folded_hands:t2:

I used to use ExpressVPN on an Nvidia Shield and it worked. I still use it on PC and it works fine.

Yes. I tried it Tuesday on NESN and kept getting “network unavailable” but it worked fine on MASN. Tried again last night and was able to watch the NESN broadcast. ExpressVPN

I use NordVPN and sometimes I am able to find a server that allows me to connect but I haven’t tried it on Roku. I really only have to use it during O’s and Nationals series. If you are Boston area, VPNs every game would be a mess.

I have had no issues at all using nord vpn on both my Apple TV and iPad actually with mlb.tv. Granted I’m in Phoenix and if I want to watch the d backs it’s what I need to do. I typically go to Dallas as a server and no issues.

I use planet VPN free version I couldn’t believe it I had to mess with my phone a little bit change location and what I do was use California when I live in Florida and I got the Tampa Bay games which are normally blacked out I had to screw around a little bit anything to get around those ripoffs on MLB raise their price get kick back some other providers and we pay more anyway I can get games I used to get every game until they sold this out nothing like getting Justice

Thanks for the response! What is an Nvidia Shield?

I’m in NC. They kill us with blackouts for the BAL WASH & ATL games. Have the whole corridor blacked out. Wouldn’t be so bad if the games were carried locally but they’re not lol. If it’s blacked out and not on espn or tbs or fox, we just have to wait for the archived feed. Got hopeful when mlbn got added to Hulu live. Still blacked out :woman_facepalming:t2: just so annoyed with it. It’s 2024 ffs. If you pay for ANY kind of tv provider with streaming content, nothing should be blacked out.

Not everyone can change phone companies or want Tmobile.

Yeah we have Verizon

It’s basically the same thing as a Roku

Ahhh. Thanks so much
