Router mode. I got gigabit internet but when I connect to the internet remotely via FWP VPN (WireGuard, UDP) I never get speeds above 100mbps though the documentation says max is 500mbps. Anything I can tweak to fix this?
What ISP do you have? What is the exact plan. If it’s Comcast, you don’t have 1Gb upload, it’s probably 35-45Mb/s upload.
Therefore, your download when connected to the VPN is actually the upload from your firewalla. Which will max out at 35-45. The upload theoretically can go high though, but if you’re testing from the same network it will be 45 up 45 down.
1gig should be about 20 i think if I remember the tiering right… As it’s why I went to 1.2/40, for like $5 more a month; and a FWG+
Not Comcast. I don’t live in America. Firewalla speed test clocks my upload at around 400mbps.
Any smart queue rules?
Check if both ends (the VPN client side + server side), make sure they are fast enough. (in some cases, not all device can run wireguard fast, so you may have a limitation there too)
What would be the client side? I just connect to my FWP via its VPN server via wireguard iOS app, I don’t use clients.
