Free trial auto renewal

I did what they told me to do it’s just there’s just no cancel subscription button

So, I’m not entirely sure if this also works for the free trial, but it worked for me cancelling the recurring payment for my regular subscription.

Go to https://ucp.nordvpn.com/dashboard/ and login with your NordVPN account. Under “My Services” there should be “Private and secure internet access [Active]”. Click on the three dots on the right and then “Cancel automatic payment”. Confirm the prompt, and refresh the page, now below “Private and secure internet access” it should say something like “XX Subscription · Expires on XXXXXX”.

If you pay via paypal then you have to go to paypal and end your recurring payment there. It will be buried in your settings, but here’s a direct link: https://www.paypal.com/myaccount/autopay/

I guess, you won’t be billed then and the trial just expires, unless you actually choose a plan, but if you really want to be sure you could contact support at https://nordvpn.com/contact-us/.

By the way, how did you get the trial? I thought they replaced the free trial with the 30-day-money-back-guarantee.

I got the 7 day free trial through the app

Also it says that it will auto renew by paying 83 dollars per year

What did you set up as payment method? If you got the trial via the app, you might have set up a subscription via the Play Store or Apple Store.

If it’s Android, try going to https://pay.google.com/ and clicking Subscriptions on the left (or open the Play Store on your phone and select Subscriptions in the menu). From there on you should be able to cancel that.

I don’t exactly know how this would work on Apple devices, but you’ll probably find something related to payment and subscriptions in the App Store or Settings.

Hmm, I’m sorry, I can’t help with Apple, but if you see the subscription without being able to cancel, you should probably contact Apple support. You could also try to temporarily remove your credit card (or whatever payment method you used) from your Apple account, so it can’t be billed, if your trial runs out before you can fix that.

this is one of the shitty things about nord, contact their customer support and tell them you want to cancel your subscription, last time I saw, they have removed the cancel subscription button and require you to contact cusotmer support, on the plus side, you could probably get some karma out of it from r/assholedesign
