I found a fix for the Google one vpn issues on the mac.
The solution is to goto settings> privacy and security and scroll you will see a message about google VPN click ALLOW.
I am running MacOS Big Sur Version 11.7.10 on a MBPro Retina, 15-inch Late 3013. I cannot find that in my settings for security and privacy.

Yes I am running Sonoma. I’m in IT it was easy to figure out I just looked. I used the download off Google for the VPN. I don’t know what you’re running but it worked for me.
I’m still running macOS 13 Ventura and the Google VPN was my personal blocker for upgrading (I like the Google VPN because it’s fast). Thanks for letting us know how it works in Sonoma!
