Have You Enabled Google's Free VPN?

If so, what are the advantages/disadvantages of enabling it, please?

YouTube comments don’t load at work, now they do

Yes.

My kids’ school blocks Facebook and Reddit and with the VPN on they work.

(For me when I’m there. I’m not getting my kids around restrictions. They don’t have phones.)

Nah, can’t use AdGuard Pro with Googles VPN.

I’m using it right now. Never had a problem with it. It just doesn’t do what a real VPN is supposed to. That is hide your online presence and location. I believe it works to mask your IP address and other critical and personal online identification mediums. Though to websites like Netflix, it will always allow your location to be visible so you can’t use another country’s Netflix to view content that’s unavailable in your home country. Hey, if it offers the slightest protection from the serious threats then what’s the harm in having it enabled?

Using a VPN from Google is the dumbest thing ever

since when there is a free VPN?

Since it’s only regionally available, nope from an INDIAN user

Sometimes it works, sometimes it completely kills my Internet. When it works, it’s great. When it doesn’t work, nothing that requires Internet works and I have to turn it off to access anything.

no. ive used windscribe for yrs n been happy, n heard nothing good about Google’s VPN

How does one do this??

Yes, I use Google VPN with NextDNS.

I have, but I have protonvpn for all my devices including my pc and not just my phone and tablet. i like them more and trust them more, but from what ive read, google’s vpn is trust worthy as well. im just used to protonvpn and because i can use it on my pc

Not available in my country

Yes, to protect my data when using public WiFi during travel time.

Yup, have it setup to turn on as soon as I leave my house

Actually I am using it 24/7 since last week. Mainly because most of my time is spent on school network and I want make it as much private as possible.

No because it’s free and from Google

its worthless, you get what you pay for, and of course, google gets to harvest and sell your data once again…

Do you know what a VPN is / what it does?

If yes then you basically got your answer
