How do you deal with the lack of Port Forwarding?

I use torrents to download the bible. Is there any solution/workaround for not having port forwarding through Nordvpn, as it does not allow all connections to go through, therefore, not reaching maximum available speeds? Switch to something else?

Is it really critical for you to have maximum available speeds? If yes, you may need to look into VPN providers that offer port forwarding, there’s nothing else you can do. But keep in mind that torrents still work with Nord, you just don’t get as many connections and maximum speed.

You can get a dedicated IP from Nord for an extra fee. I use Nord’s proxy settings in qB and sometimes get 70 MBps. Which is 560 Mbps.

Not critical but would like to leverage my 1gbit internet connection as much as possible. I m using a linux server with a i7 6700k cpu. I do not think i am cpu throttled (am i?) but the torrent really needs to have a lot of connections to maybe see 20-30mb/sec. My windows machine under Nord, seem to get higher speeds. Is CPU a factor with torrents? I know my RasperriPi 5 is sloooow

Have you considered Usenet (NZB’s). I’ve created a very easy guide here that got a lot of positive attention from the community… https://youtu.be/4IGKF-K_Rgc

It’s not your I7-6700 it has hyper threading. Pretty solid CPU even in 2024. Your available RAM could play a part. Your PC needs to receive and send information packets back and forth. Speed test your internet with and without your VPN on. That will give you a good starting point to see what the issue is. Could just need to restart your modem.
