Hello. I made a new Netflix account from turkey with VPN. Its working fine when with VPN, but when I use it on my country I get that error code saying “your account can’t be used from this location” with the error code from above.
I have already paid for around 3 months with a gift card. Is this gonna fix itself? Can I do anything to fix it, or is the only solution to watch with VPN? (even tho I wouldn’t prefer that)

This is a recurring issue and very well known. Turkish accounts have a 30 day region lock, meaning that after 30 days you’ll be able to watch from your country without the VPN. However, some users have reported that even after 30 days the account is still locked. this is pretty recent, so there isn’t a definitive answer here.
I’m from Pakistan. Let me know if you need an account at a lower price. That account will work on your location, VPN or no VPN. Pakistani accounts don’t have any such region lock.

If you use a credit card from Southeast Asia, then you have to stick with a VPN for life, even after 30 days
Hey, I have the same problem too. I redeemed my 2.5 months worth of gift cards 3 days ago and I get the same error code when I try to watch something from my country (Greece). Last year when I did this gift card trick it worked without a VPN as if I had bought it locally. Now I can’t watch without an active VPN running in the background.
From what I understand, I have to wait 30 days for it to work without a VPN, but in that period I need to only open the website with a Turkish IP address. What I wonder is, if I open the website without a VPN in the next 30 days, does it restart the timer or not? I’ve read some people didn’t even get fixed after 30 days.
Also, I’d rather pay with my credit card than buying gift cards from sites because the gift cards are getting more expensive. Now when I try to add another payment option to my account, it wants a Turkish phone number for the verification. After 30 days when the geo-locking thing ends, will I be able to add my local credit card?
I think some people don’t realize that they accidentally leak their IP to Netflix and I’m pretty sure that will reset the timer on the 30 days.
When I first got my account, I used it for 27 days straight with a VPN, then one of my Turkish VPN servers showed as Japan and it screwed me, so I started over again.
This time, I logged out of all my Netflix apps and only accessed Netflix from an incognito browser on my laptop, hooked up to my TV via HDMI. Every single time I connected to a server, I first checked to make sure that Netflix sees it as Turkey by going to their website in incognito.
Once I saw that it was the Turkish version of Netflix, I logged in, watched some content, then logged out and closed the window before shutting down the VPN.
Did that for about 35 days and it has worked perfectly ever since.
There are several factors involved that people don’t account for. Having your Netflix account in a controlled environment for 30 days is the way to go. That way, Netflix doesn’t find out you’re not really in Turkey.
But after the 30 days are over you have to pay again in the countries currency you are residing in, correct?
I just chatted with Netflix Support and he said I can’t use the account until it expires and then subscribe again with/from my country, which makes it 5 times as expensive.
So there’s currently no solution. Netflix clamping down hard atm.

That sounds really annoying and inconvenient. My Geo lock should be over next week but I looked today to see if it was over by any chance, but it wasn’t and I hope that it didn’t reset the timer or whatever. Some people have just created the accounts and Waited 30 days until they use them occasionally trying them and that has work for some. apparently it’s just more unpredictable now.
What if I don’t use it for 30 days? It should work as well right?
I’m still using Netflix from my country, I only bought it from turkey to move my account to another country that is cheaper. Still using it on my country, and didn’t use the Turkish one since I created it 15 days ago. 15 more days to go.
Not really. Netflix CS is useless for this TBH. You should follow community advice. They will not tell you that the account is Geo lock for 30 days, this is just user experience-based. After the Geo lock is gone, you can just add your credit card via CS chat. Just ask them to send you the form to add your credit card. You should wait until the Geo lock is over though, just to see if it works.
If you use gift cards it may stay locked. I added card before gift card expired and its working fine without vpn now after around 35 days
