If you setup a VPN tunnel to your home router, can you watch all channels on the spectrum app outside of the home?

Has anyone rolled their own VPN, and successfully bypassed the restrictions on the app?

I use WireGuard server and the remote router has a vpn client mode that routes all traffic through the WireGuard server at home. Works great to watch spectrum live tv while away from home.

yea, Trick is if using their app it detects vpn (Last i tried) and bitches. So you would want a hot spot or something that’s vpn’d in by default. I haven’t tried it off a laptop, i just use the mobile to cast it to something.

Just download the channels individual app. The reason for OOH viewing restrictions is because of licensing. So if you wanna watch ESPN OOH just download the ESPN app and use your spectrum info to log in under the cable provider option during sign in

I have a Unifi setup with VPN and it works on my Apple devices like I’m on my home network. I have no issues watching all of my channels remotely. I’m not sure how it “knows” you are VPN tunneled to your home network.

Interesting.

I have routers on both ends that are capable of creating/routing through a VPN.

It is worth a shot.

Most channels don’t allow live tv this way.

My iPhone won’t let me watch live TV if a VPN is active. Your computer will work just fine though.

You really don’t even need all that. Can load the website just fine in the Chrome app’s full desktop mode while any VPN app is running.

It’s works on my Mac, iPhone, and iPad. I’m using my router To VPN into and no other service.

Update- I’m wrong. I was watching on VPN SportsnetLA from work not less than a week ago over VPN. I tried it today and got the VPN error. This sucks.
