I’m rocking the internet waters under the PIA (Private Internet Access) banner. No complaints whatsoever and they are really cheap currently. Might want to hear some other people’s input though so you get a better picture.
If you’re somewhat technically savvy set up your own VPN with an Amazon AWS Free tier account (free 1 year AWS up to 750 hours of use per month) It will be far more robust, reliable and faster than PIA.
There are plenty of guides on doing just this if you’re not entirely savvy but willing to go on an adventure and learn new things.
That being said, if simplicity is what you’re looking for then PIA is arguably one of the better options.
Serious question, didn’t feel the need to start a new thread, what are people using VPNs for?
I had an account with a vpn/smartdns to access US Netflix, but their crackdowns on those methods mean I’m going to let my subscription to the VPN lapse.
If people are using it for more torrents, why not get a seedbox? And are you actually all that worried about the possibility of being caught?
Are there any other reasons people are using them?
AirVPN without a doubt.
All their servers are dedicated and actually hosted where they say they are. Sometimes VPN companies use shared servers with false IP addresses to emulate being in certain countries.
I’ve been using NordVPN. Got it when it was $36 for a year. Their Windows GUI sucks ass, but the Mac version is actually pretty decent.
Zenmate.
It’s about ¥250 p/m if you sign up through their Japan page which is considerably cheaper than their £ rate.
You can even use PayPal to pay in the yen rate.
I think they screwed up there somehow.
I only use it for BBC, Ch4 and occasionally Spotify - all U.K. But I’ve heard Netflix works on it too - I think there is a free trial to make sure anyway.
It works flawlessly and you can simply activate it, using the same account, with just one button on Mac / iPhone / iPad etc - presumably PC and android too.
Edit to mention it can be browser-based or system-wide.
I use Purevpn personally. Can’t complain, it works.
I have had good luck with Mullvad
I use PureVPN for the ease of setting up split tunneling - VPN for the things I want to use it for, straight Internet for everything else, simultaneously.
I use VPNarea. Cheaper than PIA, very fast, excellent support and highly rated by users and in numerous reviews.
i thought there are no people here who uses VPN. thanks for the VPN names though, ill be looking into some of thems. im using VPN because of games
Try PureVPN as it is based in Hong Kong and have a pretty decent service. Rest is told by romjpn & tokyohoon which is right!
I use Hola and SoftEther VPN
Netflix doesn’t allow you to use VPNs if that is your intended purpose. That would be my one complaint. I use PIA as well, though. Satisfied with their end of things.
I’ve also been using PIA since February or March. Haven’t had any problems.
This. PIA all the way.
another vote for PIA here. but yeah doesn’t work for netflix anymore
Thanks for the reply
I use a VPN to access my American Gamefly and Xbox Live accounts because a Japanese IP blocks access to a lot of my account features.
