We’re seeing lots of reports of people strugging with logging in on EUW and EUNE. Riot’s official status site does not yet list any issues, but we’re creating this megathread to consolidate the discussion of the issues. We’ll keep this thread up at least until Riot confirms the issues.
Some users have reported that using a VPN allows them to log in properly. If this works for you, consider leaving a comment describing your steps to help others.
it has been three days that I cannot log in.
This is just embarassing at this point.
So /u/KazooieFanta posted that you need to log in via VPN, go into settings and tick “Close client during game”, then go into a bot game and once you’ve entered the game disconnect your VPN. I did this and can confirm the client now works normally without VPN, even after restart. I have no idea how that fixes it but it does seem to fix it.
Also I’ve noticed that at times I would get huge lag of >600 ms on EUW and I discovered that closing the game client via task manager would stop this, so it just might be good practice to have that option ticked at all times.
It’s crazy that Riot isn’t reporting this on the server status page. They have reported connection issues on Sunday afternoon but after a few hours, they removed the message as if they solved it.
Maybe this is affecting only a small amount of users?
It’s unacceptable how long this is taking.

Day 4 riot has still not fixed their server issues. Thousands of players are left stranded. I stare at my crashed client and wonder whether there will be a light at the end of this tunnel. I feel the cravings, withdrawal symptoms are beginning to set in. Others have begun to use VPNs to get a cheap fix, but I will not let myself be tempted. I need to just keep going for a bit longer. They call me foolish for thinking riot will actually fix it, I am beginning to lose hope myself. One… more… day…

FIXX FOR LOGIN
First, you need a VPN for 3 Minutes. I took Avira Phantom
Open Phantom and click “nearest connection”.
Now you can already Log into your account.
Be aware, if you close the connection with the vpn, you will be kicked again.
NOW OPEN SETTINGS AND MAKE A TICK IN “Close client during game”.
You need to open up a pratice tool game with 1 bot on the enemy team.
Start the game and wait till minions crash mid.
Now you disconnect the vpn server and wait 5 seconds.
The game should go on.
Make sure youre doing dmg to towers or minions, so you know, that youre connected to the league server still.
Now you leave the game.
Since you made sure, that the Client closes during the game, the second client will only open after the game is finished.

For everyone thinking about writing a ticket, Riot already knows this is happening.
My ticket got replied to this morning with a “precompiled message to answer as many players as possible” (the message is in italian, bluring out the guy’s nick just in case).
You can translate it yourself if you want, but it basically says they are getting a lot of reports about the issue and are working on it. We are asked to wait around 48 hours to see if the issue is fixed.
Any news? Riot? Twitter? Fucking Seraphine account even?

This is absolutely ridiculous. If I were Riot I’d be ashamed, not only of the fact the server is down but also of the absolute lack of communication. “No issues”. What a joke. They have people finding workarounds through VPNs and whatnot just to log into their game and there aren’t any issues…
Since the beginning of clash yesterday, can’t login to the server always giving me the same “unexpected error”.
I swear I won’t reinstall this game or use any vpn. If they can’t fix this shit I’ll just stop playing this game. An entire weekend unable to play, now I’ll have exams and won’t be able to play, so I guess I won’t play for like 2 weeks. Can’t wait for the 3 xp boost or some shit
