Misleading marketing pricing?

So i go to sign up & then are marking that you get 1.99 per month if you sign up for 2 years plus you get 4 months for free which is:

1.99*24 = 47.76

I went to sign up &

ok from their pricing it looks like your *not* giving you a free 4 months but allowing you to pay for an extra 4 months at the 1.99 rate:
1.99*28=57.71

grated taxes are unavoidable but this is REALLY misleading marketing.

NordVPN did the same thing too, it seems to be a common thing with VPN providers for some reason. Just like how it is always 80% off, because they set the price stupidly high just so they can give you discount and make it look good.

It’s not just Surfshark…

Despite Surfshark having a similar apples to oranges price comparison, I went with Surfshark for the antiviral add-on.

A lot of complaints here about how Surfshark functions, but I find that it works great. Just wish they didn’t move their HQ back to a 5/9/14-eyes country (which happened before I came in board).

I got the same issue. I’ve even reached out to them about it.
I got the 4 months “free” but still got taxed for the 24 + 4 = 28 months, so the taxes alone cost me more, even if I’d actually pay for these 4 months (with the $1.99) per month

It’s misleading, but the price is true, just their monthly price calculations always calculate the monthly price with the extra months included, so 1.99/mo*28 is correct math here, the initial price stays the same as 24 month offer, but you get the free months.

Nord and Surfshark are owned by the same company Nord Security, so no surprise they do similar marketing. It’s been like this for a long time and unlikely to change.

Had both Nord and SS. They both suck. How is that for staying on topic. Feb 8 last day of SS. Removing my comment for comparing them both was off topic? Ok another reason to leave both.
