Since we get a lot of asking for VPN provider recommendations, we’re making this megathread a monthly occurrence (you’ll find the newest one at the top subreddit menu). It’s a chance for you to ask for or recommend your favorite provider.
When recommending a provider, you must mention at least a couple points for why you prefer it. Don’t just list VPN features that are common knowledge - explain whyyouchose it. Comments simply mentioning a provider’s name aren’t allowed. No affiliate links, links to review sites, or VPN provider websites. No shilling either.
You might also want to check out our comparison table. We update it regularly so you could find a provider that ticks all your boxes. There’s also a pinned special deals thread for when you decide.
Keep in mind this megathread will still be looked after by the mods.
I am looking for a VPN site/program that has server for Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I’m travelling out of town but it would be great if I can get a VPN with server back home (some thing I use require location to be in the province of Manitoba)
What are everyone’s thoughts on IPVanish in 2022? I have been using them for years without any issues. I tried NordVPN a couple weeks ago since they offer split tunneling (IPVanish support advised me they are working on adding split tunneling), but it seems to take longer to connect, and speeds are slower. Just seems odd due to all the hate IPVanish seems to get, and the support for NordVPN.
Bitdefender VPN (Paid, free only gives you 200MB), it comes with Bitdefender AV and had recently gotten Ad blocking, Tracking protection, cities (in some countries), and the ability to change protocols (may be limited to the mobile app). It also has a kill switch, and contextual auto connect. It is also very fast, having little to no impact on bandwidth. And the ping stays low enough to play most games most of the time. (There are times when the ping will be higher, but it shouldn’t be a problem) it can tunnel to different countries, and Cities (if available). And it does not have any DNS leaks when properly connected.
I’m looking for the cheapest vpn for 1 single month. I want to watch a UK show, and i don’t care overly much about privacy. I just want to find the cheapest option that I can trust enough to use my card on.
Thanks!
hello everyone I’m looking for a good vpn to use in Saudi Arabia, I have been using surfshark for the past 8 months or so and it was working great but recently having a lot of problems.
first of all, I can’t connect using the web extension at all, it just says error cannot connect
2nd, the windows app keeps kicking me daily and I have to log on every time but the weirdest thing is that I can’t even log in by email, I have to use code log in
3rd and worst of all, the app have been completely not working since yesterday, just stuck at loading for some reason, no matter what I do (even tried reinstalling it)
It still works great on my iphone but for pc and web browser it sucks balls
edit: would be great if they have servers in UAE or Turkey
Any specific recommendations for the best VPN option for remote employee I have working in the Philippines who’s doing cold email outreach I think her emails are getting flagged and ending up in spam folders.
Hi! I need a vpn that works for Rakuten TV. I’ve tried ExpressVPN that works for everything EXCEPT rakuten, where I keep getting an error bc I’m not in Japan. Please recommend me a good VPN that 100% works for RakutenTV!
I recently got Hotspot shield premium as a deal through my password manager. But I had recently seen some videos regarding how ``secure’’ certain VPN’s really are. I looked through the posts about hotspot vpn on this subreddit and found that there were several issues a few years ago.
Have those been sorted? Is Hotspot Shield any good?
