Netflix with VPN not showing Japanese content

This is a new one for me. I’ve been watching Japan Netflix with a VPN for over a year now. Lately (since yesterday) I’m no longer getting titles available in Japan just the titles that available in America and Japan. This is a different than the “Opps, We’ve detected a VPN” error. It seems I can’t even search or see Japanese only content. Is anyone else experiencing this? Or any ideas how to deal with it?

Have you used a site like https://whatismyipaddress.com/ to verify that your vpn is actually connected to a Japanese IP address?

Man, this is a, “sorry…never mind” situation! The problem was my browser and browser catch using Chrome. Cleared the catch and website data and it’s all better now.

SAME BRO. I USE nord vpn and I’m having the same problem ! I paid for a a good 3 year subscription so they better fix it!

i have noticed that netflix on my ipad weill remember what country i wached last in and i have to close and reload the app few times before it will update and register my where my VPN is set to.

I have no problems with SoftEther, it’s free and open source as well

Use SoftEther VPN. It’s a bit finnicky sometimes but when you manage to connect to a server it works with Netflix every time (in my experience).

It’s a VPN where the people host their own servers so it mostly goes undetected.

I’m having the same issue with my VPN and Netflix- how did you clear the browser catch?

That’s fascinating, makes sense. Sometime I watch on my Phone with the vpn. I wonder if that’s the issue

Hey DJ, if you are using Chrome (and probably any other browser) go to preferences > privacy and security and “clear browsing data” the go to cookies and other site data > see all cookies and site data then remove all. After that restart browser.

I actually did this- didn’t work sadly. Apparently lots of VPNs are having problems with Netflix right now. I reached out to Customer support for my VPN company and they said that they were already working on it and that it should be fixed within a couple days hopefully.

I already paid for this VPN for 2 years and it works very well. This is the first time I’ve had any issues with it and the company is already on it. I know people that are having problems with Netflix and others VPN as well rn. Oh well, I’ll just watch whatever’s on American Netflix until it gets fixed in a coupoe days
