We’ve released the VyprVPNv5.0.0 Windows update to the full user base earlier this week. Most users will see a automatic option to upgrade within the app. If you do not see that option, or you wish to update now, you can so manually by going to VyprVPN Apps
Today we’re releasing the VyprVPN macOS v5.0.0 to a staged release, which means that a limited percentage of the macOS user base will get the new version automatically today, and the rest of our macOS users will see the release within the next few days. If you wish to update now, you can so manually by going to VyprVPN Apps
The VyprVPNApple iOS and the Android releases are queued for release next week.
This release has a number of UX/UI improvements, along with some internal changes to meet requirements for the App Stores and to allow for better install and uninstall processes.
Also, we’ve been working continuously on our backend network - where the majority of speed, security and anonymizing improvements are being made. We know that users have been patient waiting for new features, and the good news is that the new V5.0.0 App framework was the needed first step to get our team and the code base ready for upcoming features.
Please let us know your thoughts and suggestions here on Reddit - I have our engineering, product, customer support and exec team here to watch, engage and proactively help our user enjoy VyprVPN.
I did have a bit of trouble upgrading on my Mac. I opened my v. 4.something, and in the VyprVPN menu it noted an update was available. I proceeded, and up popped an error saying the app was damaged and needed to be trashed. This left me with no VyprVPN. Fortunately, I went to your website and downloaded it (5.0.0) from there, and it installed without problem.
We use to support Linux, and it was depreciated due to low use in the past. I don’t think we marketed it well either. I’ll speak with the product team, we can find a way to get it back on the roadmap, it shouldn’t be a heavy lift. Thanks for pointing this out.
We are aware of that problem, thanks. It’s a error in sparkle that triggers updates. We paused that rollout while we update the installer, should be back on line soon. Great catch on going to the website to grab the current dmg! Glad it wasn’t too much of a hassle for you. We’ll try to do better next time on final testing.

Update: We’ve just release VyprVPN 5.0.1 for macOS to address this issue
if you do release one, please do release a tarball or a multi-distro option(debian/arch/fedora) too many vpn’s roll with debian only, which cause issues down the line
