I’m just thinking of switching to the new Surface Pro WoA version coming in a few weeks but use NordVPN a lot for work. When I owned the Surface Pro X none of the VPN apps would work. Any success getting the NordVPN or PureVPN apps to work with Windows 11? I ended up using the plugin for my browser most of the time but need the greater security of the OS based VPN.
Not a direct answer to your question, but as an FYI, VPNs generally cannot work in emulation mode because they use network drivers. Drivers cannot be emulated and must be ported to Arm.
I use NordVPN on my Surface Pro X through OpenVPN and it works perfectly for me. Could this be a solution or is there a requirement of yours that I’m missing?
PureVPN? I bought a “lifetime subscription” from them when it was offered as a deal. After two years they cancelled it. This is the type of company that will screw you over. Stick with NordVPN of Surfshark
You can also use built in IKEv2, some VPN provider have guide for it.
I personally use windscribe since it can go as low as $2 / month depending on the location you choose.
I recommend proton VPN over ultrasurf vpn
I use NordVPN with IKEV2 protocol with Windows 10/11 built-in setup.
There is a paid openVPN client called ‘Viscosity’
Both openVPN and Wireguard has ARM64 native client software.
Do those not work over Windows’ built in VPN?
Any chance you could point me in the direction in getting the wireguard app to be configured with NordVPN??
Thanks - This probably is a good solution. I often switch countries I’m connecting to so it will just take a bit more setup… but I’m sure I can figure that out.
