Norton 360 randomly installed itself

Hello, turning on my computer today i saw the Norton 360 icon on my desktop. when i searched for it in my settings, it said it’s been installed since the 6th of this month. I’ve had this computer for over a year and have never used any Norton services with it. Does anybody know why or how this could have installed itself?

Maybe it’s malware masquerading as Norton, hoping you’ll click it and start it up.

Install malware bytes and use that to scan your system and get rid of it.

Norton likes to install with a variety of products and will even come with driver updates too, so if Windows forces an auto update to a driver, and said driver installs with Norton, bam, you have herpes.

Malware Bytes didn’t find anything, so i uninstalled Norton and am just gonna move on, thank you guys for your help.

Same thing just happened to me, when I installed my new R5 5600X CPU, it just popped up on the desktop, and I know it wasnt there before.

Malware Bytes is a critically underrated tool.

I’m going to run the malware bytes, if that doesn’t find anything i’ll just uninstall it and move on

i had bullguard and it just turned into norton that might be what happened to you

Installing now, thank you
