Peacock VPN detected

Regardless of which East Coast server I choose. After viewing Peacock for a time; I get the message VPN detected. Anybody else having issues with Peacock? Using Firestick Max, only temporary solution is to force stop & choose a different server. But, the error will then reoccur at some point. Really annoying with live soccer.

Many streaming services have a VPN/Proxy detection system in place, including Netflix and others. Peacock seems to be the same. The reason why they do it is to prevent access to regional content from users in other locations.

Only suggestion is to try another server and protocols. You might come across a combination that works, but there is no guarantee. Sadly, it may be the case that they have been able to block all Windscribe servers.

Do you reboot your device between attempts?

I noticed the Peacock app (and some others) on Fire devices cache the DNS lookup requests.

Service providers have every modern apparatus available to protect their businesses, from VPN to firewalls, and technicians that work constantly to protect their privacy and data, however businesses do not allow consumers the same rights. They ALL want to store cookies, and collect data and more. Who cares about content in another location. If you can only speak English, who cares about what’s happening in Germany, and even for the few people that are interested, so what! If we pay for the subscription we should have access to the entire network. It is to the point it is useless to have a VPN. They all want to know what we do and most of them sell or collect data.

hi this is probably still a current problem right? is there a vpn (even if it’s not free) that allows streaming peacock from europe?

Using WeVPN as well. That works with Netflix & Peacock. I bought Windscribe for a certain streaming service; which it is the only vpn that works in all their territories. Live feed on Paramount plus I have to use another vpn. Looks like your need at least three different vpn’s to access all streaming services?

I used a vpn for netflix tho

True. Not much that can be done when it comes to evading VPN detection except to try and continue using different servers. Can’t blame Netflix (or any other streaming site for that matter) as well. They’re only enforcing the wishes of the people who actually own the content rights. They’re the ones who decide where a content can be played and where it cannot. An alternative is to try and use a proxy as they’re way less fingerprinted than most average VPNs. If you’re in doubt, always scan the IP using a site like IPQS to ensure that it isn’t fingerprinted/detected : VPN Detection Test | VPN IP Address Check | VPN IP Test

No. You mean force stop after exiting the app every time? Clear cache too?

Yes. Tried about 5 different servers. Works for a few minutes, then vpn detected message.

What relevance is this to Peacock?

To make it easier I usually just reboot the fire stick. But I found that opening the app and changing the VPN location didn’t always take effect when going back into the app.

I guess force closing would do the same job.

I edited my initial post with a couple other free VPNs you could try. But it sounds like Peacock has really took a deep dive into blocking VPNs, so it’s sounds like it’s simply not going to be a service that works with a VPN. Unless someone writes a TOR or I2P app for Fire OS, you might just be out of luck.

Define TOR & I2P please. I have a working vpn with Peacock. Obviously I’m not going to say which one in public

I can only refer you to the wikipedia articles and the websites that run the services, as they are very complex network protocols that use extremely advanced anonymizing technology to keep your IP masked at all times. These can only be used on a PC, Mac, and Linux computers at the current time.

I’m not all that familiar with I2P and how it works, but both networks allow you to connect to “hidden” sites aka the dark web. But you can also browse with them normally. The Tor browser has all sorts of anti-fingerprinting technology and it’s constantly rotating your IP through 3 layers of network traffic (hence it’s original name - the Onion network) so your IP can never be exposed or you identified.
