Problem with Linux client

I cannot connect using the linux client. The app shows that it is connected but I can’t even ping google from the terminal. I followed the installation procedure given for the official linux client. Earlier I used to use a `protonvpn-cli` command but I forgot where I got it from and its been a while since I’ve used proton. Anyone know how I could fix this?

PS : I have set up quad9

could you try connecting and running ip addr? you should see under tun0 or similar, an ip address like 10.98.0.16

might also be worth updating the app if you haven’t already…

The linux client is absolutely horrible. I’ve reverted to using WireGuard with Proton VPN.

I just started having issues with the Linux VPN client 4.3.2. I cannot connect to any servers, it just spins and spins but never connects. I’ve run nmcli connection delete pvpn-killswitch, but that only gives me network connectivity back, Proton VPN still doesn’t connect, I have to kill the applications. I’ve uninstalled, removed ~/.cache/Proton/ and ~/.config/Proton/ and reinstalled from scratch, no change. I can’t even click “Cancel Connection”, nothing happens.

I’m running Linux Mint 21.3 x86_64

barebones, yes. horrible, I don’t think so.

sure it isn’t as pretty as the windows client, but I personally like that. there’s less faff and it lets me do what I need faster.

that’s not to say I don’t want a fancy map. but I probably wouldn’t use it regularly

I personally never got it to work on various distributions and desktop managers, but that could just be a single experience.
