Rav antivirus connected to reason security engine?

So my ram has been jumping from like 28 to 99% and when I looked on task manager, it was the reason core security engine that was making the ram load jump. When I opened the file location, it was in the rav antivirus folder. Are the two programs linked and would deleting rav get rid of the reason core security too? Its been a real pain in the ass running programs without my ram load going to 100%.

RAV Antivirus is at least a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program) that is extremely outdated. Do not use something like this if you want actual security.

https://howtoremove.guide/rav-antivirus-uninstall/ (Also do not click on the “Download SpyHunter” button at the top of the page, it’s not good either) This is a guide on how to remove the AV. After it’s uninstalled, install something better like Kaspersky Security Cloud - Free/ Kaspersky Internet Security, Bitdefender Free (paid options work as well) or ESET’s own AV. Avoid Avast, AVG, Norton, Avira and McAfee.

RAV antivirus “hasn’t been updated in nine years”?

It’s malware?

Recommend: you get rid of RAV antivirus, which at best sucks.

Get Bitdefender/Kaspersky free or paid, ESET, etc.

You might also consider making sure all your personal files are backed up, and doing a clean install of Windows, then restoring your files and programs.

If you don’t have backups, two versions, one ideally off site, this may be your wake up call.
