Realtor.com blocking me

I subscribe to realtor.com emails telling me about new homes for sale. In the last couple of days I’ve gotten “blocked IP” messages because I’m using a VPN. Is anyone else seeing this?

I’ve seen the same from craigslist.org and amazon.com. I use a vpn to protect my privacy but it seems like more and more sites are blocking you if you don’t submit to their full data submission demands.

That’s pretty much what’s going on.

A lot of sites are starting to block cloud and VPN IPs. discussions.apple.com, for example, doesn’t allow IPs from AWS.

Nothing you can really do about it, except try a different VPN node or a different provider altogether.

Edit: link

generally speaking, the more expensive of a VPN you use, the more IPS’ it has and the more it gets new ip’s and the more it spends in man hours unblacklisting ip’s which will prevent this.

Craigslist has been doing this for years ever since the Craigslist killer struck. Its a safety thing for their users.

Try to use another VPN provider with less flagged IP addresses.

That may be specific to your one VPN service. Try other servers from your service or get a new service.

Yep, ExpressVPN user here, the discussion apple link won’t load at all. Can’t try connecting to another server as i’m downloading something but just throwing it out there. (Connecting to Miami)

You put the wrong link for Apple Discussions. The correct link is https://discussions.apple.com, and that seems to load fine for me while on my VPN.

EDIT: Paging /u/danielsuarez369; can you try that link and see if it works?

Well shit, works now, thanks man haha

Whoops. Thanks.

Still doesn’t work for me. I am “not allowed”

Ah, unlucky. You could try connecting to different servers on your VPN, in case it’s one particular server that got blocked for whatever reason, but you’ll have to find a new provider or wait until your provider adds new servers if they’re all blocked.

I run my VPSs; have tried AWS, Azure, and now OVH.

I can still get on from OVH, but I’ve tried quite a few IPs from AWS/Azure and none of them have worked. Pretty sure Apple is just blocking their entire IP space.
