I’m in India and am looking for a good SmartDNS and/or VPN to subscribe mainly to watch Netflix.
Can someone suggest one below $5 a month.

The think you can get netflix in India now? As of this week its opened up in MANY more countries. If you can, then install Smartflix beta on your computer to get a taste of what content is out there in different regions. It’s free currently to access EVERYTHING on netflix 
I use Nord VPN. No problems. It was $30 for a year of service.
For SmartDNS there is overplay since you are in India there are two VPN providers who have virtual USA servers in Singapore and Hong Kong Ipvanish and Vyprvpn.
I use AirVPN. They have automatic passive SmartDNS. Basically, you can connect to any of their servers anywhere in the world, and you can still access the geo-locked content of every other region. Their DNS servers just handle the DNS routing regardless of which VPN server you are connected to.
Full disclosure: it doesn’t always work perfectly, but it works most of the time. Occasionally I will have to manually switch severs.
Adfreetime is probably the cheapest smartdns for netflix.
