Other VPN apps on iOS have had this for years. You can set whether to enable/disable VPN when on cellular, or select Wi-Fi networks you “trust” to automatically disable.
While it isn’t baked into the app, you can make such scenarios with the automations within the Shortcuts app.

Thanks for the reply! Maybe someone else here might know. I know tasker and macro droid are options but I’m not that savvy lol
