Routing problem with Hamachi VPN

Edit: SOLVED.

After lots of attempts and tests, turns out the problem was with Hamachi’s settings i.e. the settings stored on Hamachi’s server. I deleted the virtual network, created a new one, and added the clients, and now it works fine.

Original Post:

At a client I’m trying using Hamachi to connect his 2 computers while in & out of office. I have used Hamachi’s VPN before, and it was a really pleasant experience with zero-setup. However, at this specific client things aren’t working as expected. The machines cannot communicate over the VPN.

While each should see the other in the Hamachi’s client window, the list is blank.

Yet, both machines show up as Online in the Hamachi’s web management interface.

I tried to ping from one to the other, but I noticed that the routing is not acting as desired. Checking the routing table, things seem ok, but my eye is not well trained for reading a routing table and I hope someone can tell me why the ping is routing through the wrong interface…

Please see the trace result & routing table here

LAN is 10.0.0.x

Hamachi’s IP is 25.x.x.x

Pinging from 10.0.0.10 which is also 25.36.31.110 (Hamachi’s VPN IP) to 25.49.103.84 (Hamachi’s VPN IP of other machine), which is also 10.0.0.2 (named Secretary). I believe the trace is going out to the public internet, where one of the ISP’s routers is 10.0.0.2, and this is why it’s showing in the trace as [Secretary]…

Thanks for your help.

Who manages the client’s office network? If it’s someone other than you, their sysadmin might have this sort of traffic blocked in their firewall (UPNP wouldn’t work in this case).

Did you set up port forwarding?

I manage it. There’s no firewall.

I’m having a doubt that the router might be goofing. I will reset its configuration tomorrow and see if things work.

Forwarding what port to where?

If you mean for the VPN, this is not necessary with Hamachi as it does this automatically with UPNP, or other methods…

There’s no specialized firewall, we’re just using a regular DSL modem/router…

No, I didn’t change any route. The LAN is very basic and simple. Just a regular DSL modem/router, a printer, 3 PCs, and 3 mobile phones.

Nothing out of the ordinary.

Are you Microsoft support when someone asks about how to do something in Windows, for example?

The issue here is a bit mixed, and my main request is to help me understand why the routing isn’t working as expected given the routing table provided in the image.

Besides, LogMeIn won’t offer free help for a free client  for whom I’m doing free work…

Perhaps someone here bored enough to help me out.

Set up these port fowards

I’m having a doubt that the router might be goofing. I will reset its configuration tomorrow and see if things work.

If not, I’ll try the forwarding.

Thanks
