I know that there are some parameters in place for whatever reason that doesn’t allow people to play Sekai using a VPN, but this is really annoying to me; whenever I’m bored in school and want to play, I kind of HAVE to use VPN because my school wifi proxy-blocks EVERYTHING, and my cellular wifi just… doesn’t work. Again, I know that SEGA has parameters in place that prevent people from playing with a VPN, but like… why? and does anyone know of any ways for me to bypass this or does it just come down to me trying to get lucky with my trashy cellular? ;-;
I think if you are playing on JP, on sekai, maybe you can use A JP Resdential IP, setup may be complicated, but you can get one IP in Japan, and use something like openVPN to connect to that.
But for free options, most VPN Providers should do, but just look around and you can find out.
(Insert vpn name here) isn’t free for me, but I “bug” their billing system to make it only cost a penny/month, (infinite trials).
If you can’t find any good ones that suits your needs tell me so I can spend my time looking for one.
Sekai is anti vpn? Didn’t notice but try and use AVG web shield. It goes through for me and doesn’t get blocked, especially for JP
yes, i know it’s a whole antivirus but it’s worth a shot for whatever WiFi your school runs on
Had no issues playing while on ProtonVPN.
i can play on global fine with a vpn, but i gotta hotspot myself if i wanna play jp, pretty annoying

I used ProtonVPN and Hotspot Shield before, both of them still don’t work and I can’t play Japanese Sekai whilst using a VPN.

I use Proton and it doesn’t work at all. Are you on Japan or Global?
I believe the JP servers are using a VPN/Proxy detection service, so even paid vpn may not work.
You can try Borrowing a library hotspot and work it out from there, but try playing outdoors, where cellular is good.
You can play with not the best connection, unless you are playing ranked.
Also while someone else is looking for a solution, you can also gratify yourself with sonalus (app) and download expert charts you want to play and play them offline.
Don’t think your school blocks invidiual sonalus servers.
