So my school got iPads and they put a VPN on it to filter all of the internet traffic to the school

I was wondering if any of you guys know a way to get around it without notifying them because they have a ton of webpages blocked like reddit, facebook, etc. So if you guys know how to disable it and not tell my teacher that I did, that would be great.

Is my school the only school without iPads, iPods, or some sort of tablet?

I would assume they’re using Apple configurator to generate a profile that forces a VPN connection. You would have to get the exact details to be able to connect without using the profile. Then you could just turn it on and off as you please.

Sorry, but there’s really no way around this unless you do a forced restore via iTunes (which is impossible because your PC won’t recognize it and be able to edit it).

Besides, the iPads are for schoolwork, not seeping around on the interwebs. Do yourself a favor and don’t mess with the device.

How about you just pay attention in school and worry about pornhub when you get home? Quit wasting the teachers time dickhead. Just stay home if you don’t want to learn.

My school had a profile in settings that downloaded this app called k3000 that tracked us, but they did not block anything. I just went into settings and deleted the profile and that worked for me

Me either but everyone had phones and tablets except me i just have my iPod

Any idea how I could go about doing this? I’m not very good with this kind of stuff.

Pretty harsh, but I agree with the point you make. They give you those things to do schoolwork, not play games and get on all your social networks.

I forgot to mention hat they are personal iPads because we get our own to take home for the year, so I meant for use at home not necessarily just school.

Well, you would have to examine outbound traffic using something like Wireshark IF you can’t look into the profile options and get their VPN address. As for the username and password, that may be a bit harder to obtain.

Yeah, I agree with his point, but not his attitude.

Holy sh*t! Instantly felt poor.

That’s a bigger reason to listen to what that guy said.

Not to be racist, but do they hand those out to black people too?

I was a little harsh. My apologies. I read it as “OMG my school just gave me a iPad and I can’t check Facebook FML”

Anything prefaced with, “Not to be racist, but…” is instantly racist.

Bet I can prove you wrong.

“Not to be racist, but this sentence isn’t racist”

Not to be racist, but your white.
