Solution for Adguard Pro - VPN connection that keeps dropping

I just recently bought Adguard Pro from the AppStore. I then noticed that the VPN connection, which I believe handles the DNS queries, keeps on disconnecting at random times. I noticed these when checking DNS queries on the app as they seem to stop and no longer processing DNS queries. I then had to re-enable the connection (Privacy Status).

This is a solution that worked for me so hopefully someone here can benefit from it.

P.S. I am on IPhone 6+ v12.4.6 and using Adguard Pro v2.1.2.

  1. Open Adguard Pro app, go to Advanced Settings, then scroll down and enable the Restart when Network Changes option.
  2. On your IOS Settings app, go to Mobile Network/Cellular settings and turn off Wi-Fi Assist.

In the Privacy Settings, reduce the amount of filters to less than 50K.

Use AdGuard SDN filter instead.

I’m on windows using Adguard VPN. It was disconnecting intermittently. I turned on the Wintun switch in Advanced Settings and it’s been fine since.

I was actually only below the 50k mark on filters and there were still issues with it.

Are you talking about 50k DNS filter entries or less? That’s so little. I have ~152k DNA filters and it was working well when I had ~600k+ filter entries in the past, but my connection drops frequently and AdGuard disconnects. I tried the “solution” here and am waiting to see if it drops again, but in the meantime, what is the AdGuard SDN filter? Is it one you manually add, and if so what’s the URL? I’m currently using AdGuard Filter (DNSCrypt) on AdGuard Pro and have been for a while now.

Edit: iOS 13.5 iPhone X, I’ve reinstalled & reconfigured twice now, and I have tried resetting network settings before with no luck.

Ohh. Ok. That i am not sure. I have both normal and pro version and both seems to be fine. I’m using the latest iOS. Probably wait for the upcoming update to the pro which will be released soon. It may fix that issue.

Have you tried reinstalling the app? And to Reset of Network Settings in iOS?
