I’m a noob so please bear with me. Also - thanks for creating this awesome site. Here’s some context-
currently have trials of strong 8k and eagle 4K on 2 different ONN boxes in 2 different rooms. Using tivimate player and Nord VPN. Ordered strong 8k from Z2U. Seller had a very high rating.
last night my strong 8k feed crashed and burned. Nothing loading, tivimate giving me an “error 456” message. Tried with and without VPN, no dice. Tried force stop of Tivimate and restart, no dice.
to confirm it wasn’t a tivimate issue I tried the xtream URL in a different player and again no luck. No issues with eagle on my other box.
contacted seller via Z2U and they gave me 3 alternate urls. None worked. They were very similar in naming convention. I should note that the original URL did contain the “cdn” that I’d read was common w/Strong 8k.
I let the seller know and they then sent me a list of about 15 alternate URLs in all kinds of naming convention formats. This seemed a little sketchy to me…
I decided to test another seller so I checked out a 1 month trial via Trex and it worked immediately.
So I assume I just got a questionable seller/reseller? But curious what others think. Again, I have all of 10 days of experience in this little corner of the world so very easily could be user error. Could anything have been impacted by changing vpn location (but still within same country?).
I’ve never run into this, but 400 error codes are often provider related. (it’s a type of authentication error whereas 500 errors means things are just hard broken regardless of authentication). Don’t worry about the multiple URLs they offered seeming sketchy, that’s quite common and what the provider was trying to help you with there was using different URLs just in case your ISP was blocking one or more of them.
One google result I found indicated that it was because your account might be geo-locked to a different region from where you’re accessing it from, so asking that original provider to make sure your account is enabled for VPN might be a fix.
Just to make sure I understand, was Strong ever working before it crashed? If so… the VPN thing seems less likely to be a solution, but it is still worth double-checking.
I have strong 8k on aonth from z2u, I have the same problem, it doesn’t like my VPN sometimes, I have to use a UK VPN as I was on that when I ordered, it doesn’t like the London streaming optimised but works well on the Manchester and ok on Southampton so could well be a VPN issue, when I get a longer account I’ll ask for geo lock to be removed .
It almost sounds like the login info isn’t working correctly. I think I had those same errors when a trial I had expired. Ended up buying after my trial and just changed my login info and it’s been good ever since. Strong8k also btw
i bought a strong one month subscription through alibaba and havent had any problems. sorry you are having issues. i do use a vpn but it moves around the us. I have the paid version of proton vpn
I had an Alibaba $22 a year service for a year. It would only work on certain VPN servers in the northeast US. The first week I got locked out by setting it up on a second TV at my house. Never ran both TV’s at the same time. They gave me new credentials and told me not to use a VPN. Worked the year I had it but didn’t renew.
I bought 2 line of strong 8k for friends to try out from z2u and they are having the same issues with it going down. I told the provider he turned on the vpn but it will work for half a hockey game then just die out. The screen goes black
Just for info, I had this exact problem. First issue was with a playlist sourced from the wild, as a test of course! Error 456 every couple of days. So bought a month trial on z2u, all good till 456 came back. Messaged seller on z2u new years eve, sorted next day, no problems since. I didn’t have to change anything my side, message your seller. Using Tivi with VPN always on, android box. Hope you got/get sorted.
Strong is reporting issues with their main servers on Telegram. I’ve also found them finicky with VPN, but I think mine is a Tivimate issue, not the provider.
Yeah agreed - i was going to comment that they have been very responsive! Being new to this I think I just got a little weirded out by the long list of urls in various formats. And in general just trying to be cautious? Sounds like it’s nothing to worry about.
