Throttling IPTV - Alternate Solution to VPN

Netflix or Amazon Prime work OK, but lately my IPTV service is struggling to deliver because of inadequate bandwidth. When I test the speed within that app, I’m seeing about 18-20Mbps, whereas regular bandwidth tests outside the app put it at about 90Mbps. Clearly that app is being identified as IPTV & throttled, but using a VPN doesn’t change anything at all. Are there any other solutions that might help? I need just about 30 more to reach 50 & it should be OK. I have enough experience with ISPs & this issue to know that calling support will produce 2 possible results: they will either not know what I am talking about, or will flat out lie and say they don’t do this at all. Thank you.

What iptv service are you using and on what equipment are you running it on?

Hey there! Thank you for your post. Observed Wi-Fi speeds, or internet speed results through specific third-party applications, vary. If you want to verify the speeds we deliver to the home, you must test the speed at the modem/gateway. To do this, connect an ethernet-enabled laptop or desktop directly to the modem/gateway with a gigabit-enabled ethernet cable. The modem/gateway is where we deliver our service to your home. If the modem/gateway speed is correct, then you have confirmed we are providing the proper internet speed to your home. Otherwise, if the modem/gateway reflects slower than average speeds, a service issue might exist, requiring a service visit. ^Andre
