In town visiting family and need to get some work done. We’re staying off of 249 and 1960. We tried The Core Cafe today but they were having issues with their wifi. Is Starbucks our best bet?
Tether to your phone and you’ll never have to worry about wifi quality and you can just go anywhere. That’s what I do.
The only coffee shop I know in the area is off Jones road across from the street corner from Kroger behind the Asian restaurant. I forgot the cross st.
Give Barbarossa a try, their coffee and wifi got me through my master’s degree. They used to have a location near 249 and Louetta that I think closed but they have a couple other locations in the area.
Make sure you use a VPN…
This is my favorite coffee shop in the area: ZunZun
The local library
Yes.
Listen, brother. I know this topic.
Reliable internet is to be found at McDonalds and at Starbucks.
The Starbucks near you, Cypresswood and 249, is small. But not heavily occupied. My experience is the wifi is reliable. Drive a bit farther to the one on Louetta by “Vintage Preserve Parkway,” and you have a lot more room, and more options for plugging in. wifi is reliable.
Louetta / Steubner Airline = wifi is not reliable and if you ask, they have no idea what you are talking about. they are clueless.
They are in the class of the various independent coffee shops who are also clueless. Happy to claim “internet,” but not recognizing that some of us depend on this for our livelihood.
Anything on FM1960 has risk of car getting broken into.
On google maps, many sites show up, but some, like Kroger on cypresswood at Champion Forest, is a grocery store with a starbucks in it.
Barbara Bush Library is near Stuebner and cypresswood. When open they ave internet. Collins Park right by there has county internet, if you can tolerate being outside.
I have one more place right in the area. My ace in the hole. But you gotta PM me for this.
Honestly if you plan on sitting and working for a while Starbucks might be your best bet. You won’t feel guilty for not ordering something else after a half hour the way you would at Mom and Pop coffee shop.
Barbarossa coffee is the best , fast wifi, fresh roasted coffee and great vibe
Look up Black Rifle Coffee Company
Your internet usage also won’t be tied to a public WiFi network (unless you use a VPN).
Maybe Crescent Moon? We used to go there often when we lived in the area.
Ah okay, I wasn’t aware they had other locations. I was familiar with the 249 and Louetta one that is now The Core Cafe.
This is a good idea! I feel bad taking zoom calls at the library but maybe they have private rooms.
I went to my local library, and their wifi was terrible. Ended up just tethering my phone
This guy coffee shops. Dming you right now.
249 and 1960 is not Tomball, bud.
You think there isn’t wifi outside of Houston?
