Got a strange issue of anyone can help with please.
I’m running VPN Plus on my iOS devices and everything works great to log back to the home network.
I tried to get my Mac (OS 14.1.1) to do the same and when I logged into the VPNplus using browser place it said the client is not installed. However client is installed and even if I download and reinstall the browser log in page does not recognise.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Thanks
Use Tailscale. It‘s free. I run it on iPhone, iPad, MacBook and Synology NAS. Works great!
Thanks for the feedback. I don’t want to start trying to install another vpn service on my Synology router as I’m overseas and if I make a mistake then I might bugger up my remote access completely. Also I don’t want the VPN on my NAS and VPNplus runs on the router so I can access all devices on my local network not just the NAS.
I am watching this for possible solution too.
My only solution so far is that I have installed bootcamp on the Mac and use Windows whenever I need to connect to VPN Plus.
I had issues with VPN Plus on MacOS for two years. Then I ditched it for Wireguard. After every update of VPN Plus it took me hours to get it back working. Uninstalling and installing it over and over again. At the end I couldn’t get it to work again.
Don’t you have installed Quickconnect? Also you could even use L2TP/IPsec with VPN Server. Works fine and I have access to all my devices. VPN doesn’t need to run on the router.
I have quickconnect but that only gets me access to the NAS not all devices on my network. I don’t want to start changing my access arrangement now as I’m overseas and if something goes wrong there is no one locally able to access my network and help. So I’m happy sticking with VPNplus as it does everything I need. Just wondering why it won’t work on my Mac.
Firewall enabled on macOS?
Unfortunately that didn’t work. No change
Problem solved. Switched off iCloud private relay. That seemed to be buggering up the IP address recognition. Thanks for the suggestions chaps
Yeah I meant it should be deactivated.

Ah yeah I thought you tried to get access over Finder not over Web. That’s why a VPN is great, to get an SMB connection over Finder.
