I had completed a project and had selected “Back to Project Dashboard” when I saw the waitlisted message. The project is pending and nothing seemed to go wrong. I did compete it faster than their estimate time, but it was something very simple that didn’t require a lot of complex reading or thinking.
I had updated some About Me questions when prompted via CRC, but nothing that would’ve sent up a red flag as there’s been no drastic changes in my life and that was quite a few hours earlier.
I don’t have a VPN and take my work on here, Prolific and elsewhere very seriously for over two years. While not making a lot of money on CRC, I generally had work daily while online even if it wasn’t tons.
I imagine I’ll get the usual scripted response from CRC and will have to hope to regain access someday. What’s weird at one point it said I had limited access because I was a part of a longitudinal study, and I’m not in one currently. I had one study show up after the waitlisting.
I’m sure people here will think “Surely she’s done something wrong.” But we have seen here prior that others get randomly waitlisted and regain access. We know the system can be flawed.
I’m just waiting day by day for mine it feels like only a matter of time.
Unsurprisingly I got the scripted messages people have seen before. I went back and forth with them. They claimed they never waitlist anyone in error and their process (whether automated or human) never makes any mistakes at all. They made a mistake and for several reasons won’t admit to it.
Admittedly I was one of those people who though “Oh it won’t happen to me” and it did. Again, I know for a fact I did absolutely anything wrong. Online panels, CRC/Prolific and plasma are the only ways I get any money-why would I risk messing that up? Granted I was lucky if I made $20-$50 a month from here, most months it was like $5-$10.
So now I get to wait to see if I get unwaitlisted like others have prior-if that happens I’ll be reaching out to support again to say… “Hmmmm…” in the nicest way possible.
If anyone sees this I’d appreciate any other site recommendations that have aren’t just mobile app only and pay out to Paypal.
Yeah exactly!
I imagine there are people are thinking “Oh that’ll never happen to me” and then it does…
Same thing happened to me after I completed a study about 2 months ago. What’s funny is they expect us to help them out with the longitudinal studies after banning us. Yeah I’ll get right on that $3-$4 study when the minimum PP withdraw is $5. What a slap in the face.
But you could get an Amazon gift card for $3! Think of the possibilities!
