I wish I read this before using a credit card. Should have used PayPal.
If this is correct then this needs to be at the top
(Edit added the link)
Windscribe, can we get clarification on this? If you change your credit card do you lose your $10 lifetime plan?
We are working on a massive improvement to our payment system that should allow you to swap payment methods without cancelling. If for some reason we can’t offer this functionality by the time your plan runs out and you need to swap to a different payment method, we will fix this manually for you.
TL;DR you will be able to keep the plan if you need to swap to a different payment method.
I’ve gotten Igor replies in numerous support requests, for Windscribe AND ControlD. Dude’s out there doing his part!
“We no longer want to support the free plans we gave away to advertise our service, so we went back on our word. Then too many people complained so we’re throwing the 50gb users a nice deal to not look like jerks. Fuck the rest of you that were on 15gb to 40gb plans”
For real. Not sure how the insertion of jokes makes the reduction of features feel any better, if anything it’s condescending.
But if you read this thread, you see some users are just eating it up. So I guess it okay for some.
I thing they say we are dump and must pay! Its say more for me, this company have finance problems and his end is nearly
It lasts until you cancel the plan or we shut down
I’m interested in this too. As I have the same lifetime plan you have. Where you have to send a support ticket every 10 years.
I have the same plan,(unlimited devices and bandwidth) and email reply, what happens to us? Do we lose the plan when the P-guy kicks the bucket?
Lifetime subscription are either “my” lifetime or the company’s lifetime in my opinion.
This is also what I have, been using since 2016…
Does this mean in 2026 i won’t be able to have my account roled for another 10?
These changes do not apply to the Lifetime Pro plans. Those will continue to be honored. The expiry is set to 10 years but it will renew automatically if the account is not deleted.
Having this plan as well. Its like a ticking time bomb because you are in the mercy of them to extend your account.
Like a loyalty discount if you purchase years in bulk, good idea
I feel your pain. I’m paid up for 10 years on one account, but I have another account that is eligible for the promo as well, but then I lose the 10 years I’ve already prepaid on my other account if I activate the $10 a year plan.
“Bought” is the difference. They’re not taking away plans that were paid for. Only the free ones offered early on.
As in, we have no intention to ever, for the lifetime of the company, offer a yearly pro plan this cheap again.
You can cast your vote for his death by paying $10. Or hope he lives forever for personal gain. Choice is yours.
Only accounts on the 50/60GB plans can use the link above to upgrade to pro at that price point.
