Exactly my question too. I intepret it as a one-off deal at $10 for a single year. After that, prices revert to whatever is on offer at that time. Hope I’m wrong.

We’re aware of the issues with our payment system but you’ll be happy to hear that we are in the process of completely rebuilding it from scratch. We even hired a dedicated developer several months back to take on this task. It’s coming along well so we’re excited to make these improvements.

Exactly the same for me here, it’s baffling how they don’t realize how transparent this is… or so I thought, yet most people seem to be rather happy to focus on the scapegoat they’ve provided, and are ignoring the basic principle behind *you broke your promise and now are trying to bend it with a funny joke, and still trying to get away with it by manipulating us*.

I believe that is because… it doesn’t affect most people. I’m flabbergasted and, quite frankly, disgusted, just as you are.

To me this is pretty basic scummy marketing tactics of faking to give something for free for a little while in order to generate interest in your product, then you take it away and by some coincidence that’s the moment that there is a limited time deal to become a paying subscriber.

I actually wouldn’t even mind that much if they didn’t pretend it was anything else. But their little act doesn’t inspire much trust to me.

are you on free plan 60gb? if so, it must be shown. if not, i don’t think so.

Nope, just a whole lot of internal discussion among the team members. Legally, we’re allowed to take away free plans or any free features whenever we want as it’s part of the Terms of Service, so there was no need to consult lawyers for this.

A company I worked for had the same issue with their “lifetime” plans. After some time they decided lifetime meant lifetime of the device, and lifetime of the device they defined as the time they would support the device, which they set at 10 years. Surely must’ve been some battle between legal and marketing wanting to use the term “lifetime” but ultimately they did and, despite some people complaining, they got away with it.

It is unlimited data as long as it’s reasonable usage. For example if we see there are 50 parallel VPN connections on the account at the same time, this isn’t reasonable for any single person as it’s likely account sharing or some sort of click farm, neither of which is allowed.

Same with the bandwidth, if we see some crazy numbers like 30TB in a month for example, this is likely to be some sort of suspicious use so we’d flag the account.

Now, these numbers are not set in stone so flying just under them won’t get around the anti-abuse system. We have multiple metrics we look at to determine potential abuse.

But overall, you are very unlikely to hit any of these limits if you’re just using the internet like a normal person. You can stream 1080p60 video for the entire month, 24/7, and it won’t even appear on our radar.

Been with them on an Lifetime Pro Sub since 2017 and had some heavy months with 4-6TB Traffic and some lighter one where i stumbled hardly over the 1TB Traffic mark and so far nobody seem to care about it at all.

So yes, Unlimited means Unlimited in your case for $10 per year if you have the Option for your account to pull the Upgrade as long as the Deal last.

This was part of the relief codes we sent so those are getting downgraded. The $10 offer is only for the 50/60 GB plans that were claimed back in 2016-2018.

It is a subscription so it will renew at the same price the following years as long as you don’t cancel the plan.

So is it Pro Lifetime or is it 40GB lifetime? If you have Pro, you’ll keep it past the expiry date. It will renew automatically if the account is still around
