Surfshark great had no problems at all even email address monitoring and alerts you if any data leaks
Surfshark mainly because when I was testing a few it worked the best on my nas.
Express VPN. So far so good
I use protonvpn, because i have my email and whatnot with them and it comes free with those and its a company i have chosen to trust at this time.
Personally, I’ve been trying out Mullvad the past 2 weeks, and I haven’t had any problems yet, other than the fact that their application doesn’t give me the option to connect to the fastest/closest server available. For next month, I’ll be trying out one of the other 3 vpns recommended here:
Nord for windows, sadly don’t have a version for linux that’s arch based for steam deck
Don’t use any vpn. I’d rather not hand over my internet data to some random company in some random country.
I don’t use one. I find them useless.
the only time i use a VPN is when i lag in a specific game, going thru a VPN fixes the routing issue. i’ve always used Nord and it seems to work like a charm
PIA simply because I can port forward with it easily.
People are funny. I don’t use any VPN. Network architect for 12 years now. Almost all web based/internet traffic is TLS encrypted. No need for a vpn. It really is a gimmick unless you need it for region blocks, illegal activity, or on public wifi.
Didn’t they pretty much say on the WAN show and if you search hard enough on Reddit pretty much every VPN will sell your data to a government or entity if legally required to. There’s zero point for a VPN then if true privacy isn’t even available. The sticking point is even if say VPN company A doesn’t share your data now they do collect it and if they get acquired later on that new company will share your data.
Rent a VPS and install OpenVPN
I use PIA. It’s mostly for signing into my accounts from other countries when I can’t do it from the US. Doesn’t really work for Netflix or online gaming though. Not really an issue for me but it would be nice to have.
Use proton and windscribe for the most part, mostly cuz they both got free options, I use it for accessing geo blocked content mostly so idc about anything else
I’m using protonvpn and their other services.
Nord. They had a killer deal at the end of last year that was effectively about $2/mo. for a basic plan.
Avira(Version that comes with their paid antivirus), Wireguard(to my home) and sometimes Proton VPN
Last week they advertised BitDefnder’s VPN in one of their videos, https://youtu.be/Um0l6ZSxfTE?t=58
Express VPN has been very good in my experience, it’s been fast enough to make using it not unbearable.
On my “seed box” it uses TorGuard.
