I used to have nordvpn and upgraded to Protonvpn.
I have uninstalled nordvpn long time ago and installed protonvpn, I have network reset multiples times. I have even disabled DNS Clinet on my windows. I have uninstalled and reinstalled protonvpn numerous times tried different version.
Here what happens.

When I try to replicate this on another system it resolves correctly via ProtonVPN gateway. So this issue is only on this system.
Can someone help me fix this? I ran malwarebytes, and microsoft defender and both says system clean. I have no issues other than sometimes the sites wont resolve and I see like 10 queries to nordvpn dns to resolve it. and sometimes it super slow to pull a page up (which again is only a issue on this system the others are fine).
How do I know those are nordvpns dns, I looked it up and its their dns.

By any chance did you set it as the DNS server on your router? Your computer gets the IP from your router settings when one hasn’t been set.
Edit: Also double check your network settings on your computer, as I re-read and noticed you didn’t say anything about that: How to change DNS settings on your PC running Windows 10 | Windows Central
Do you have the NordVPN firefox extension installed on this system?
What IP Address do you see (while connected to the VPN) on https://ip.me and what dns servers do you see on https://dnsleaktest.com ?
What is the DNS output of the following in command line (windows + r → cmd)?
ipconfig -all
What is the output of the following in command line (windows + r → cmd)?
nslookup protonvpn.com
In your ProtonVPN setting do you have Custom DNS servers enabled?
What program are you screen shotting in the first picture? Do you have dns leak protection enabled in the ProtonVPN application?
Check your windows network adapter settings, maybe you manually set your dns there in the past.
Nord ain’t letting go. It’s got you trapped in Nord hell. Nord knows all.
No to both. I have even purposely changed those in my troubleshooting efforts to see if it changed but nothing changed.
I have no nordvpn extension, or any vpn extension installed. Also it resovled every request not just firefox.
What IP I see? the portonvpn IP not My real Ip.

its a nordvpn dns server. I monitor all my traffic and nothing is getting out or in that I didnt allow and I already scanned my system. Clean. I googled all I can and couldnt find any resolution so if you can link me to something that will be great.
Can you try todo the following procedure (while not beeing connected to the vpn) please?
in cmd:
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
then restart the computer, connect to the vpn again and provide the same output again.
just did it and everything came out exactly the same as previously. Ip the same, dnsleak the same, ipconfig -all dns is the same, and nslookup is the same.
Then I’d like to forward you to the support team:
Thought Ill update you since you helped and maybe you might come across this again. What happened was I had installed openvpn connect before and set that up and when I uninstalled that it must of not completely uninstalled or undo it changes and I just didnt noticed. I reinstalled it and uninstalled with revo uninstaller and did advanced delete (it just delete all changes it made) and that fixed the issue. Thats how I fixed my issue.
Thanks for the update, much appreciated!
