Edit: Excuse the title. I meant “Protocol”
Mac Mini m1 2020
These are some issues that are noticeable after the upgrade to the new Sequoia OS for macs. This could mainly be a problem that Apple needs to address with an update fix, but I thought I would mention it here as well since it is a problem in Surfshark.
List of current issues.
-Surfshark VPN has connection issues when using Wireguard protocol: The Chrome browser does not detect an internet connection whereas Safari does connect. (It also takes a very long time to connect when set to Wireguard protocol).
-Downloader apps also do not detect an internet connection and do not respond to wireguard protocol.
-IKEV2 is the only protocol that seems to have less issues but the connection is still not smooth and very choppy.
- The surfshark extension for Chrome seems to be able to connect to a different location and Ip address than my surf shark desktop app. My desktop app is connected to Latham where as the surfshark chrome extension has me connected to new york with a different IP address. I’m not sure if this has always the case though. Edit: I do not use the chrome extension regularly but was testing it through trial and error and Wireguard does not work with or without it).
I’m not sure if this could also be a surfshark update issue but I thought I would address it here just in case.
I also addressed the issue in more detail here: Original Post: https://www.reddit.com/r/MacOS/comments/1fihlge/comment/loh1mxu/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
