Hey guys! Just a quick understanding and advice on which protocol is best in terms of security and speed. I understand wireguard is preferred but if that is not possible to connect due to restrictions and bans, which among the other two is next best?
I am assuming openvpn using udp but please share insights and reasoning.
WireGuard is considered faster and more reliable than OpenVPN, with comparable security and encryption. WireGuard is also known for being stable and reliable for mobile networks. WireGuard uses the UDP protocol and can be configured to use any port.
OpenVPN is considered the most secure VPN protocol, with near-unbreakable encryption. It’s also open source, so users can check the source code for vulnerabilities.
IKEv2 is often paired with IPSec to create a secure VPN tunnel. IKEv2/IPSec is considered lightweight and adequately secure. IKEv2 is a standard protocol that’s natively supported by many operating systems.
Govt. unable to connect to windscribe via wireguard constantly. Sometimes it stops working altogether, even when connected. Tried default app and third party wireguard app too with multiple ports and configurations.
On the other hand, tested IKEv2 and openvpn udp, they worked well.
