Day 3 : get ready for the zombie apocalypse

We heard about this through the grapevine early yesterday afternoon from an account manager of a different vendor that also works with Change, no official notification from Change Healthcare/Optum, though allegedly they started notifying customers last night. But my understanding is they knew this was occurring as early as Tuesday morning.

Tech here, are you sure SureScripts isn’t affected? It was converting all our escripts to faxes.

Was able to get some discount cards to go through, but not all. Wish people wouldn’t get mad at us. Like, I’m sorry ma’am, I get scripts too that I can’t fill atm. Probably won’t be able to get my ADHD meds filled until this is all sorted out.

Is there any kind of real ETA on resolution?

Any ideas if CVS uses Change Health or do they use Relay or something different?

What is the damn backup plan? These are mission critical services. Process the claims manually or by phone. People got prescriptions filled before all the automation. Revert to a sensible backup plan instead denying prescriptions. This is on the insurance companies to serve their paying customers. It’s not our fault you, Mr. Insurance company, contracted with a vendor without adequate backup facilities in the event of an elongated outage.

Been trying to bill coupons for my patients Botox, aimovig, ajovy, etc and nothings going thru. Keeps timing out. Is Medicare affected too cuz that’s also timing out at my pharmacy

Is there more detailed info (and where can I go learn) on how things work in the backend , like you mentioned too ed the routes, relays, etc for pharmacy billing and e-prescribing? Where and how does each player interact in this system? I am really interested led in the technical side of this and can’t find any info.

Trying to process good rx claims with a new id number seem to work with some claims, but not all

This is wild. We confirmed that all the big pharmacies in our area are affected, but the two small independents are not.

I work for a major hospital system in specialty Pharm. This has been a nightmare. We cannot process anything through United Healthcare, and to add insult to injury, we cannot process claims to PANF or Heathwell for copay grants . Nor can we process claims to Omnisys for Med B drugs, chemo meds. We are filling these on an emergency bases only, manually billing now, and hoping to bill the insurance company and grant foundations retroactively. Good luck everyone, today really was a bad day for us, for sure.
