MacOS suggested VPN

Hey, I am new in MacOS world. I have been using Windows with Norton VPN. However, I am wondering if there are better alternatives for MacOS. I never really learned to like Norton VPN with all the popups and constantly annoying reminders. Appreciate suggestions.

Ever and always Mullvad.

ProtonVPN are good enough

I use Private Internet Access (PIA) on my Mac iPhone and iPad.

I use Mullvad for a couple of weeks now and I am very happy with it. It is secure, fast and very light weight.

Do you actually need a VPN for any real use case? This video explains why they’re pretty much useless: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVDQEoe6ZWY

Especially the “why” of their picks.

NortonVPN isnt great, use Mullvad, ProtonVPN

I use Private Internet Access. Works just fine. Does what it needs to do.

If you’re looking for some kind of privacy and security on public or untrusted networks, Apple Private Internet Access should suffice.

If you’re looking for a way to reach back to your home network and you’re IT savvy, I prefer ZeroTier since it has a client for just about any OS at this point. I even side loaded it on my FireTV stick that I travel with so I can tunnel back home and stay on “local” live TV services without hassle.

Since my home firewall is setup as a ZeroTier gateway, I also benefit from my ad filtering that inside at home while I’m on the go.

Proton, ive tried many, but proton is insane, i can get 90% of my bandwidth speed with it (which is massive). Proton is the ultimate vpn

I prefer to use selfhosted vpn. Wireguard client and cheap vps with Linux and wireguard server. Privacy is guaranteed and speed is better than any company-owned vpn. Setup takes like 10 minutes and vps can be more affordable than dedicated vpn service.

Mullvad is my favorite, I currently use Nord since I have it through Revolut

Who uses Norton products has lost control of his life !

The question is what is your purpose of using a VPN. There is not „the“ best VPN service, and you don’t tell anything about your intended uses.

Windscribe

I use Windscribe. They support lots of protocols for whatever client you wish to use, but their utility is also pretty good on its own and supports every major platform.

I’ve been using Proton for 4 about years and love it.

Of the free ones, definitely Planet VPN, without a doubt

I’ve used IPVanish for a few years, especially when I travel overseas.

I use Keepsolid, lifetime was like 15 bucks. If I configure it manually I can get better speeds than nordVPN. Via app it slows down somewhat. Also have fastestVPN (freebie for trialing over a few years and bug raising) and protonVPN.

All are fine. Almost never use them given they’re worse than built in features and other tools.
