New Roam Beyond Plan - $45 15GB, 81 countries

New Roam Beyond Plan - $45 15GB, 81 countries

Whoever tf is cooking at Freedom rn, don’t stop them. This is the kind of stuff I was hoping to see, and I’m glad Quebecor is doing much better in a few months than Shaw was doing in several years.

EDIT: u/JP_FreedomMobile If you’re reading this - Keep up the great work!

This is awesome!! Many people do not need an excessive amount of data. Nice to see a roaming plan that also includes unlimited throttled data.

$45/mth is a great price point. Keep it up Freedom!!

This is probably the beginning. More plans will likely come in the near future for cheaper and with more data. Just like what happened with the US-Canada plan. Started with 50GB for $50 and now that’s $34 instead.

Tab eligible.

Not all devices are compatible with VoLTE Roaming, and you may need to update your device to access VoLTE Roaming services. You can use our Device Compatibility Tool to confirm if your device supports VoLTE Roaming. To learn more or see the list of destinations, visit our FAQs.

15GB though. Odd choice.

Unbeatable price point.

I wonder if I’d be able to keep my 30GB bonus with this plan.

If so, that’s $45 for 30GB in Canada + 15GB anywhere. That would be amazing.

It’s a $50 plan before discounts are applied.

It will be interesting to hear how well this works in China. I was in China last year and a lot of websites that reside outside of China are blocked and getting a VPN to work can be a bit problematic. I managed to get by using an eSim but this can get expensive. It appears that this plan might be helpful though as I could travel to China without fear of crazy high roaming charges and I could seemingly receive text messages and voice calls which would be really nice.

The ironic thing is the service and signal in those other 81 countries will be miles better than back home…

Is it unlimited while roaming?

Doesn’t mention if it’s 5G or LTE in Canada.

Is global texting included in all of these countries?

Would love to see something like a $40/45 30GB CAN/US/MEX.

With this new plan something like that doesn’t look too far out of reach.

Feel like I’m missing something here. Free calling, sms and 15GB data while local and roaming (in the 92 countries)? Has anyone confirmed this? No hidden fees/exceptions?

Once you get it consistently working in Asia I will sign up. For now, my wireless needs are being satisfied by a different provider. Kinda sucks to have / pay for this plan, to find yourself 10000 km away from home and this does not work

I pay 55$ for 100gb canada and us

The throttled data is useless. 512 is bare minimum usable. Freedom gives you 256 on their network and just just bareable for email, text. 128 max is on nationwide. I think for international its down to 64kbps. Completely unusable

But yes, 45 for intl plan is crazy good for canadian standard.

I have a feeling the plan will have a BYOD offer of $5 off for 24 months closer to summer.

Those using (or foolishly purchasing) obscure brands or international variants, will immediately face this roadblock (the last part of the terms you quoted).
