Receive my Index in China, take me lots of efforts to bring this baby home

Receive my Index in China, take me lots of efforts to bring this baby home.

Also I notice there are Chinese characters in the back of lighthouse locators, but then it is said Index is made in US, kind of odds.

What if you have to rma?

Welcome to the club!

I already had to rma the headset after 1 month of use because the internal cables gave up. Let’s hope you won’t have to

Haha I got into the same situation for mine 3 weeks ago in Singapore was quite scared of the whole process as you need to change your bank address to American adress to be able to proceed the payment on steam then proceed with a warehouse forwarder.
Process was tough but worth it!! Enjoy men

How can you even use reddit in China?

can you use steam without problems in china?

I got my index and controllers about a month ago. Welcome to the club.

Some of the components that are plastic/metal could have been made in china, but the computer parts and the actual insides are put together in the US

Only the Base Stations are assembled in the US.

Well … this is the only drawback Index have when I consider a VR equipment…
Pimax is good in headset but their controller doesn’t support gestures capture. HTC VIVE is ridiculously expensive. Index is perfect in any aspect except for RMA. So I decide to take the risk.
Besides, I think Valve May start selling Index in other sectors soon, after that RMA may not be too difficult I suppose…

Thank you… I feel sorry for your loss, let’s hope no more Index user encounter this terrible event again.

Buddy you got the index in Singapore? How is it? Any issues with the power brick?

Exactly what I was thinking

VPN can be bought anywhere

For now no problem at all. But I have some worries on the future.

Ok, simply hope some of the core components are made in china … otherwise repair and maintenance will as hard as hell, I can’t ship this baby back to US for repair …
