Where I live, you don’t get a notice from your ISP. The copyright holder gets your data from the ISP via court order and then you get a letter from their lawyers requesting depending on what you did in payments or they’ll sue you for double or thrice that amount. For example, a music album costs like 1500$/1200€/1000£ and they then threaten to sue you for maybe 5000$/4000€/3500£… Obviously not telling you that no judge would sign on that, just to get you to accept the settlement.

HTTPS won’t help you. With the way torrents work, your IP needs to be visible to anyone who wants to download a torrent, so copyright holders can see it too

I thought their VPN was free. But I’m skeptical since they are new in the VPN world.
They track “the swarm”, not where you got the torrent file. the browser you use (e.g. ToR isn’t doing anything for you. You’ve probably just gotten extremely lucky or use private sites .
There’s nothing wrong with downloading torrents if you have a good VPN.
It’s a very ancient spinoff of a forum which is completely closed, including invites, sorry.
Currently have Mullvad, i wouldn’t recommend this vpn if you travel outside the us and want to steam stuff on Hulu or Netflix as all servers still show that you’re out of the country :-/
Noted! I would only use Nord for torrenting specifically, since yeah, definitely a shady company. Mullvad is definitely what I’m grabbing when my Nord sub is up; they can even be payed through the mail lol.
